Abstract

Tropical cyclone (TC) is one of the most frequent and destructive disasters in the world. In this study, TC hazard maps (wind speeds at return periods 10a, 20a, 50a, 100a at 1km resolution) are developed based on the simulated footprints of wind speeds (10-min and 3s), with the international best track dataset and parametric windfield models. Besides, TC impacts (affected population and GDP) are defined and mapped at national level.
