Abstract

There are numerous causes of childhood epilepsy, both genetic and acquired. The ILAE has organized the causes of epilepsy into categories of genetic, structural-genetic, structural-acquired, mixed, and unknown. This chapter covers these categories with examples pertinent to pediatric epilepsy.
