Abstract

Five new species are described: Cosmarium decemcrenatum, Cosmarium joadjense, Cosmarium quadricrenum, Cosmarium williamsonii and Staurodesmus applanatus; and fifty-eight new records for New South Wales, of which twenty-seven are newly recorded in Australia, are discussed.
