Abstract

Many retinal diseases could be characterized by regular tracking of retinal nerves (blood vessels). Identification of each distinct nerve of human retina in ophthalmology plays a vital role for the diagnosis of diabetes, cardiovascular disease etc. In the proposed work, each retinal nerve is identified and colored distinctly. This approach may help the ophthalmologists and scientists to keep track of individual parts of a retinal nerve since it is identified distinctly. Moreover, this work plays an important role in preparing the binary template for retinal authentication system. Experimental results show encouraging outputs. © 2014 Springer International Publishing.
