Power efficiency of lighting production: World tendencies and Russian practices

Abstract

Power saving and efficiency power increase problems have recently become vital in many countries. It makes power efficiency the subject of great importance in state policy development and economic planning. International organizations dealing with power efficiency, power saving up production and environment preservation successfully function in the world community. Huge reserves of power efficiency are available in the use of illumination systems. National programs of power efficiency increase in illumination systems have been developed everywhere in the world with the target on power safety strengthening, environment improvement and enriching of population life quality, moreover the development of new digital and information technologies causes constant improvement of these programs. Measures for realization of power efficiency concept promote global transformation of world lighting market, i.e. replacement of energy-intensive lighting products by power saving, harmless lighting devices, providing essential power savings and preservation of the environment. Investigation of power saving practice in some countries of the world has allowed to involve the most actual measures, such as power marking and ecological design of lighting production. Coordinated efforts of international organizations on formation of uniform platform for building of power effective assemblage are of great importance in providing power efficiency increase in illumination systems. Within the frame of the Russian Federation policy in the sphere of power efficiency increase legislative initiatives on power consumption decrease of lightning production and reduction of hotbed gases exhausts into the atmosphere have been worked out. European Union countries have valuable experience in diffusion and application of advanced approaches in regulation of power savings, ecological safety of production and preservation of the environment. World economy globalization gives Russia a challenge in harmonization of national standard documents with instructions and regulations of the European Union which will allow to implant most quickly into domestic practice available modern world achievements of science, techniques and technologies in the field of power efficacy, power marking and ecological design of lighting production in order to enter both Russian and international market of power economic efficient and ecologically safe production.
