Abdominal pain in the pregnant woman is complex to diagnose because of the multiple differential diagnosis that exists. It is necessary to perform an early diagnosis to reduce the number of complications. For this, we rely not only on clinical criteria but on imaging tests such as nuclear magnetic resonance. Our objective is to review the literature on abdominal pain in pregnant women, focusing on intestinal obstruction, and with regard to the case of a pregnant woman with acute abdominal pain who was diagnosed of intestinal ischemia due to intestinal obstruction by post-surgical bridle. Intestinal obstruction is an infrequent and potentially serious cause of acute abdominal pain in the pregnant woman, which is insidious and requires surgery as a treatment.
