Abstract

Interactions between disciplines are reviewed. The long history of the relationship between the arts and sciences is summarized, and the challenges at the interface are outlined. The historical developments between technology and the arts are summarized, including computer arts, computer animation, digital media, and digital humanities. The current enablers for progressing interdisciplinary collaborations are presented. The possibility for a new Renaissance between technology and the arts is discussed.
