In this chapter the argumentation system developed in the last three chapters will be compared with related research on defeasible argumentation. First, Section 9.1 gives a conceptual description in general terms of the notion of an argumentation system, followed by a discussion in Section 9.2 of the main systems of this kind that have so far been developed. After that, Section 9.3, discusses some other recent developments, which are not argument-based, but which nevertheless deal with the same issues as argumentation systems.
