Abstract

The Renewable energy sources have become an effective and practical option for integration with fossil fuel power plants, as well as reducing the use of traditional fuels that pollute the environment. This paper presents a exploration of smart grid-connected photovoltaic installations in the southwest of Algeria. This power plant is located in the area of Kabertene Adrar with a capacity of 3 MW and has been under operation since 2015. The analysis and design of the system is based on the simulation with PVsyst software. The design of 3 MW grid-connected PV system consists of 12244 PV panels of 245 W each and 6 inverters of 500 kW each. The results of the evaluation show that investment in photovoltaic technology is very promising at this site, as the amount of power injected into the grid during the year is 5980 MWh.
