Abstract

Most contemporary Internet applications and services require high speed data transfer with high levels of quality of service. Hence, the next generation mobile communication with the above requirement is expected to provide better link quality at higher data rate as compared to the existing systems. Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access (SC-FDMA) and Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) are considered as uplink, multiple and strong access point for International Mobile Telecommunications-Advanced (IMT-Advanced). This paper discusses the SC-FDMA and OFDMA implementation and analysis in uplink of 4G networks. The advantages of SC-FDMA and OFDMA in terms of good link performance (Symbol Error Rate) and low Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) in transmission scenario of relay. The simulations carried out for hybrid techniques to achieve the end to end link performance compared with the pure SC-FDMA technique and same value of PAPR over access link. With this, low PAPR value is achieved as compared to OFDMA case, that is much required in uplink transmission because of limited power (battery) of user equipment constraints.
