Abstract

An experimental study of frozen fine-grained red granite was performed ultrasonically, and the ultrasonic wave propagation dependences on the natural stone temperature were established. The study showed that the natural stone porosity affects the acoustic wave propagation in the permafrost significantly. The ranges of the ultrasonic superficial wave propagation in monolithic granite samples are established.
