Abstract

(Chemical Equation Presented) Charged gold species stabilized on nanocrystalline CeO2 or ZrO2 are highly active catalysts for the one-pot, three-component coupling of aldehydes, amines, and alkynes/N-protected ethynylaniline, which yields multifunctionalized propargylamines and indoles in good to excellent yields (see picture; Ts=toluene-4-sulfonyl). © 2008 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
