Abstract

Stargazing is a right that humanity has been losing due to light pollution. In this context, my objective was to locate areas for astronomical observation through digital night image processing with Python by implementing an algorithm used in astronomy and discrete convolution to obtain the locations with dark skies. As a result, I was able to provide a tool to locate dark skies in Trujillo state (Venezuela).
