Abstract

This paper profiles Ruia Holdings, Manchester, UK, a multi-million pound textile business, with four textile companies operating under its banner. It traces the history of this largely family run business, highlighting key development strategies, such as investment in buildings, improvements in customer care, expansion of business into the growing hospitality sector, and increased export markets in France. The paper concludes by noting that the company is constantly implementing better business practices in order to maintain the company's market position.
