Abstract
In the Slovak Republic there are two primary information sources about forests: (1) stand-wise inventory forest management plans (FMP) and (2) National Forest Inventory (sample-based inventory in a regular grid) (NFI). FMPs have a long history and have served as the basis for sustainable forest management in Slovakia.
