Abstract

Emotional intelligence, resilience, and life satisfaction of Andalusian football and futsal referees are fundamental constructs to decision-making during a sporting event. Therefore, this research analyzed the existence of significant differences based on the sociodemographic variables considered. The sample consisted of 96 women and men belonging to the refereeing committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (football and futsal). The instruments used were the Wong Law Emotional Intelligence Scale (WLEIS-S), the Resilience Scale (RS-14), and the Satisfaction Life Scale (SWLS). We found significant correlations between all the dimensions of the instruments used. Furthermore, significant differences were also found according to gender in some dimensions of emotional intelligence and life satisfaction; and in some dimensions of emotional intelligence about refereeing discipline. Among the conclusions, it should be highlighted the need to train the collective in emotional intelligence, especially in emotional regulation, to improve the development of their functions.
