Abstract

In this paper, a method for estimating the pen tip position of customized haptic device attachments is presented. Least squares sphere fitting is applied to the acquired point cloud data to estimate the radius and center of a sphere. Verification experiments were conducted and the experimental result shows that the proposed method has reasonable accuracy. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.
