Abstract

Electricity coal supply chain plays an important role in China economicdevelopment, but its waste gas emissions have serious impact on naturalenvironment. In this context, a life cycle inventory of raw materialuse, fuel consumption and waste gas emissions was established; then theoutcomes were analyzed about the energy consumption and waste gasemissions to produce a kilowatt-hour of a particular electricity coalsupply chain in China. At last, this paper contrasts the waste gasemissions between electricity coal supply chain and nuclear power supplychain and draws a conclusion as follows: promoting the application ofintegrated gasification combined cycle power technology and carboncapture and sequestration technology vigorously, developing water power, nuclear power and other new power energy forms actively, all of whichwill help to reduce carbon emissions of the electric industry thatcaused by coal power.
