Abstract

Landuse planning problems are categorized as complicated locational decision-making problems. This complexity makes us unable to solve such problems with common methods. It seems using intelligent systems such as expert systems and integrating those with decision support systems can help us to overcome with urban landuse planning problems. In this study, first it will be shown why a knowledge-based spatial decision support system is suitable for solving urban planning problems and EALUA that has been designed and developed by researcher with aforesaid architecture for encounter with urban problems will be introduced. Finally, result of using EALUA will be evaluated. © 2009 Asian Network for Scientific Information.
