Abstract

Malaria can be imported into the US by refugees and transmitted locally, A complete history, including geographic risk factors, and the screening recommendations outlined in this chapter can help detect a majority of cases. Guidelines on screening for malaria in refugees and treatment recommendations are periodically updated by CDC, and providers are encouraged to access this information.
