Abstract

Neoplasms involving the parapharyngeal space are not common but cause and therapeutic problem. We report here a patient with papillary thyroid carcinoma primarily involving the parapharyngeal space and presenting as a parapharyngeal mass. We emphasize that it is important to keep in mind the possibility of primary or metastatic malignancy, including thyroid carcinoma, in patients with a parapharyngeal mass. © 1991, The Society of Practical Otolaryngology.
