Abstract

This research and development (R&D) aimed to 1) create worksheet assisted inquiry learning video, 2) describe the specifications of the product, and 3) confirm the feasibility of the product. The intended feasible product will be fruitful either as online and face-to-face scientific learning and overcome its obstacles caused by limited resources in scientific learning. The scientific approach involves the main phases of observing, questioning, data collecting, data associating, and communicating. Basic inductive reasoning could naturally grow. If it has not developed well along cognitive development stages, the inductive reasoning tends to diminish as disruptive information continues to bombard human life in the online era. This intended product will empower the development of inductive inquiry learning to boost scientific skills and bring to have a strong understanding of basic science topics such periodic table of elements. The scientific learning approach would be conducive for developing inquiry learning which needs guidance when the students have not adequately had scientific skills. The limitation of learning video in empowering authentic data such as facilitating the last communicating learning phase at the scientific steps will be overcome by well worksheet design. R&D adapted Luther's development model which involves concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution stages have realized the product. The adequate validity of the product given by learning and media experts and secondary school chemistry teacher and alpha and beta testing to the product has supported to the feasibility of the created product to be implemented as scientific learning either via online, face-to-face, or blended learning. The similar product with this model can be developed further on other learning topics with some adjustment considering the topic characteristics. The learning video model which is also a learning medium is very helpful in inquiry learning in social distance limitations such the Covid-19 pandemic.
