Popliteus tendon rupture: A case report and review of the literature

Abstract

Isolated rupture of the popliteus musculotendinous unit is an uncommon injury. A case is here reported of a semi-professional athlete with a ruptured popliteus tendon without significant instability of the knee. The diagnosis was made by magnetic resonance imaging and confirmed by arthroscopy.
