Abstract

The protection of critical infrastructures and entities from threats and hazards has become increasingly critical in modern society, which is more and more dependent on supplied services. The significance of the topic has been proved by the growing interest of the European Union in developing a common policy to address critical entities protection. This paper aims to introduce the reader to the resilience of critical entities, a key concept in critical entities protection, and to highlight the relevance of cloud computing as a resource for implementing solutions aimed to enhance resilient capabilities. In the paper, not only resilience conceptual models and corresponding analysis dimensions will be discussed, but also resilience indicators and assessment frameworks will be addressed.
