Abstract

The methods and stages of filtering cotton waste and dust from the airstream are examined. Dust-control systems on processing machinery should capture all the dust emitted without detriment to the machine running and without contaminating the atmosphere. The principles of dust-control systems applied to individual machines are discussed with reference to their use on blowroom equipment, carding machines, drawframes, combers, speedframes, ring frames, open-end spinning machines, winding machines and beaming machines.
