Abstract
The gap between theory and practice has been recognized and many research groups focus on the relation of formal specification methods for agent properties to the design of practical multi-agent system. In this paper, the design and implementation of a kind of agent called E-Agent which is based on the concepts from AgentSpeak(L) and ECA rules. E-Agent is formalized firstly and the tools developed are also introduced which can help the user design and deploy the agent easily and quickly. © Springer-Verlag 2004.
