This investigation presents an experience of the the Digital Portfolio as a teaching strategy in two groups in the Automated Information Services course, which is part of the second year of the pregrade careers in the Bibliotecology and Information Sciences School of the University of Costa Rica. The strategy was developed individually and aimed to build a website as a space for reflection on the learning achieved during the course, as well as to create an information service to develop skills evaluating and selecting reliable sources of information online. The strategy allowed the students to raise awareness of their responsibility in the process of building knowledge. It also allowed feedback on both sides and the development of skills in identifying reliable sources online.
