Abstract

Network course provides a new form in developing new teaching resources and extending classroom teaching, offers a positive and practical significance in optimizing the quality of teaching and transmitting education information. The modular design of Physical Education (P.E.) network course constitutes an integrated teaching system, which includes an overall plan on teaching system, special module development, and systematic integration of teaching topics, teaching system evaluation and testing. It will fully integrate the content of different areas of expertise to improve the scientificity, relevance and effectiveness of teaching. The P.E. program which was developed based on the internet framework software platform has the functions of course management, curriculum development and course research. Through one semester teaching experiment, the results of final exam and fitness tests indicated that the network course assisting P.E. teaching got better performance than traditional teaching. © Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht 2014.
