Abstract

Barrett's esophagus is the primary precursor lesion for esophageal adenocarcinoma. Historically, dysplastic Barrett's esophagus has been treated with esophagectomy. Recent advances in endoscopic eradication techniques have resulted in minimally invasive treatments for early Barrett's-associated neoplasia. Here, we discuss endoscopic mucosal resection techniques for Barrett's-related neoplasia. These techniques have been demonstrated to be very safe and effective for the treatment of early neoplasia and represent a critical adjunct in the overall endoscopic management of Barrett's esophagus.
