By numerically solving the time-dependent Hartree-Fock equations for a simple model of acetylene (C2H2) exposed to a long-wavelength, intense laser field, we show that the ionization probability is drastically enhanced when the C-H internuclear distance is stretched to twice as large as the equilibrium value. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2012.
