Abstract

In a condis crystal cooperative motion between various conformational isomers is permitted. In the CD-glass this motion is frozen, but the conformationally disordered structure remains. In this paper, a series of macromolecules and small molecules are discussed which were reported to have some type of mesophase behavior. It is found that they fit well into the general class of condis crystals or CD-glasses. It is of special interest that the condis crystal state permits increased crystal perfection due to its higher mobility.
