Abstract

In the oil and gas industry, reservoir characterization, modeling, dynamic production systems simulation and optimization has achieved a tremendous success in reducing challenges faced by the industry. This work is concerned with setting up of a numerical model and optimizing the best plan associated with two development scenarios, plan2006B and plan 2005 using professional software Eclipse. The Eclipse software was used for application on Xiaermen oilfield. A model of complexity in between that of the simple decline curve analysis and the complex multidimensional, multi-flow simulator is used. The results obtained proved to be successful for plan2006B beyond plan2005 by an enhanced oil recovery of 3.8%. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.
