Abstract

In a Wireless Sensor Network, it is important to be able to maintain a sufficient level of coverage for a given target area. This paper addresses the problem of determining how many and where to place additional sensor nodes in order to increase the coverage from k to k∈+∈1. Several possible candidate solution methods for this problem are proposed and evaluated using theoretical and simulation-based analysis. © 2008 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
