Abstract

In this paper, half-hexagonal monopole planar antenna designed using FR-4 substrate is presented for UWB applications. The antenna structure consists of half-hexagonal monopole with microstrip line feed. The antenna is designed using FR-4 substrate. The proposed antenna has compact size and offers impedance bandwidth of 6.12 GHz (3.03–9.15 GHz). The proposed antenna provides wide bandwidth in the UWB range which can be used for UWB applications. The gain characteristic is obtained to be stable in the passband with average gain of 2.86 dBi.
