User centered design (UCD) is a key success argument for modern software development. In this paper we present a case study on developing a way finding application for mobile devices. The target users are people with special needs such as visually impaired and blind people. It can be shown that user centered design is especially important for "not mainstream" user groups and the resulting products have high acceptance rates. This specialized development methodology combined with customization leads to subjective satisfaction. © 2010 Springer-Verlag.
