Abstract

As the number of business process models increases, providing business analysts and IT experts with a query langue for querying business process models is of great practical value. This paper uses Petri net as business process modeling language and develops Petri Net Query Language (PNQL), a graphical query language for Petri nets. The syntax and semantics of PNQL are formally studied. PNQL allows users to get not only the perfectly matched Petri nets but also the Petri nets with high similarity. The complexity of PNQL is studied. © 2009 Springer Berlin Heidelberg.
