Abstract

Extracurricular Science and Technology Activity (ES&TA) is a major carrier of cultivating innovation and practice ability. We first analyze the current situation and existing problems of ES&TA for undergraduates, and introduce the origin and development of the tutor group system. Then, we put forward and explore an innovative guiding mode, which combines focusing on one center (enhancing the quality of personnel training), taking two levels (capacity-fostering level, winning prize level) into account, and applying three platforms (discussion platform for each student group, meeting platform for group leaders and the contact, and report and exchange platform for the whole team). Finally, we give the issues that we need to research further. © 2011 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
