Abstract

Science and technology(S&T) novelty search is a special information consultation service developed as part of the Chinese science and technology system. This paper briefly introduces the university library S&T novelty search. At the same time, it briefly describes the situation of the Harbin Institute of Technology library. It is focuses on research and development (R&D) of removing duplicate software that are used for S&T novelty search. The R&D of software includes three parts: research of requirement, design of software, testing and running of software. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2012.
