Abstract

The management of human talent is a determining aspect of organizational sustainability; since it is the people who make possible the achievement of the proposed objectives based on their effort and commitment. Hence the importance of addressing in this article, the level of labor productivity in 25 companies in the bakery sector of Valle del Cauca, Colombia. The methodological design of this study uses a quantitative approach making use of correlational research procedures to determine which dimensions that make up labor productivity best explain its variation. Two structured surveys were applied, the first to 25 owners, managers and administrators of the bakeries’ points of sale; and the second to 155 employees. The results obtained made it possible to establish that, if the participation of staff, leadership and teamwork / cohesion in organizations is promoted, the level of productivity is expected to increase. Thus, as a conclusion, the main contributions of this research focus on the measurement of labor productivity in an integral way, as a diagnostic instrument for the bakery sector of Valle del Cauca and as an input to implement the action plans that contribute to its improvement
