Abstract

The polarization properties of scattered light from turbid media such as biological tissues, human or animal muscle, and certain plastics have received considerable attention due to their potential for use in inspection or diagnostic detection applications. The polarized light state is represented by Stokes parameters and several methods. However, classical method is satisfactory but it still has several limitations. We prefer the rotating quarter-waveplate technique which avoids errors and inappropriateness of conventional method. The rotating quarter-waveplate method is reasonable because of its accuracy, simplicity and suitability for design. Furthermore, we utilize this method to design an analyzer to determine the Stokes parameters.
