This study was investigated how the individual difference variable influenced on the makeup behavior between Japanese and Thai. This research was conducted using a questionnaire survey involving 501male and female university students in Japan and Thailand (Thai male: 61, Thai female: 239, Japanese male: 89, Japanese female: 112). For the Thai male students, it became clear that makeup behavior was specified by “public-self-consciousness” and even if only partially by “imaginal-other-consciousness”. For the Thai female students, it became clear that makeup behavior was specified by “public-self-consciousness”. For the Japanese male students, it became clear that makeup behavior was partially specified by “private-self-consciousness”, “external-other-consciousness” and “imaginal-other-consciousness”. For the Japanese female students, it became clear that makeup behavior was partially specified by “internal-other-consciousness”.
