Abstract

Non-medical prescribing practice offers a wide application to enhance practice in community and primary care settings. This chapter briefly explores the origins and context of non-medical prescribing amongst community professionals and reviews examples of practice where the agendas have been successfully implemented. The evolving multi-professional teams of prescribers in community practice influence the development of timely, safe and effective care.
