Driving policy of higher education in Nigeria towards relevance

Abstract

This paper addressed issues relating to the policy of and efficiency in higher education. The concepts of policy and educational policy were explained generically while policy of higher education was extensively discussed with particular reference to the Nigerian universities. Obstacles to the implementation of the laudable policy of higher education were x-rayed while it was suggested among others that government should take a more proactive responsibility for nurturing policies by providing all that is needed for the workability of the policies.
