Abstract

Traditional pencil drawing methods have their own drawbacks, such as modeling complexity and higher time-consuming. Thus, they are difficult to be suitable for the real-time applications. In the paper, we present a new pencil texture generating method based on the pencil filter. The method can conveniently generate the pencil drawing effect by convoluting the input image with the pencil filter. Moreover, the method is implemented on GPU, and then satisfies the requirement of real-time synthesis. Optical flow technique is used to guarantee the interframe coherence in video stylization. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2007.
