Abstract

3-Nitro-4-hydroxycoumarin has been synthesized and characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis. The compound crystallizes in the orthorhombic crystal class in the space group Pc21b with cell parameters a = 18.5990(3)Å, b = 5.0250(10)Å, c = 8.871(2)Å, Z = 4. The structure exhibits intramolecular hydrogen bonds of the type O-H···O and O-H···N. 2006 © The Japan Society for Analytical Chemistry.
