The article discusses the role of obesity in the prevalence of pelvic floor dysfunction. Complications of pelvic floor disorders include urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. Women with severe obesity reportedly have a high percentage of morbidity due to pelvic floor disorder. It states that symptoms of pelvic floor disorders can be managed through weight loss. Information on the management of pelvic floor disorders is provided.
