The development of pain following a motor vehicle crash (MVC) is a common occurrence. The most frequently reported and investigated pain condition following such trauma is neck pain or whiplash associated disorders (WAD), which are usually associated with rear-end collision. However,WAD can also be caused by any event that results in the hyperextension and flexion of the cervical spine (Malanga & Peter, 2005; Sizer, Poorbaugh, & Phelps, 2004). Following such injuries the development of chronic musculoskeletal pain affects many and this condition is also burdensome both in terms of the financial costs associated with those who develop chronic symptoms and personal costs to these individuals (Ferrari, Russell, Carroll, & Cassidy, 2005).
