Abstract

More and more aquaculture inshore farms will move offshore, as there are more benefits to work offshore for these industries. The research on the fluid flows through a net cage has a lot of positive significance, which can improve the utilization rate of feed to improve the fish production and understand the diffusion law of the pollution source in order to protect the marine environment. Computational simulation has a lower cost compared to laboratory experiment. Computer simulations were used to study the changes in the fluid regime as the fluid passed through the net cage, as well as changes in the concentration of contaminants. This review and relevant discussions on the softwares and application can provide some suggestions for the future research on aquaculture and net cage.
