Abstract

This volume contains 22 in-depth reviews (by 37 contributors) on aspects of basic, clinical and public health nutrition. Biochemical genetics is at the core of articles on obesity, vitamin D receptors, and regulation of glycolysis and glucogenesis. Several reviews center on aspects of lipid metabolism, including the biosynthesis of prostoglandins and the structure and function of lipoprotein lipase. Topics of reviews on trace minerals in metabolism include copper, molybdenum, and fluorides. Other review topics include nutrition in vegetarianism and comparative nutrition of cats and dogs.
