Abstract

Kembang Jepun is an area of urban dense business and commercial district in Surabaya that lacking in good and sufficient streetscape facilities that can be seen in its street segment which does not have access road for pedestrian and others elements of streetscape such as vegetations and street furniture. Kembang Jepun area still needs an innovative streetscape design so that it can just not only display the unique character of the old city around the north area of Surabaya but also intended to improve the circulation of goods, vehicles and humans. Therefore, there needs to be an innovative design related in the preparation of design criteria for streetscape in Kembang Jepun area. Through the partnership diverse interest of business, the environment and community development appeared in form of Stakeholders Group. The community participation is an important key factor in the sustainable design process. One of the approaches is through stakeholders group in identifying issue, problems and potentials, setting of priority as well as developing action plan.
